Thursday

Thursdays are my favorite days of the week. Something closer to the end, yet far enough away from it.

Last night: pinto beans with lime and salt, white rice (the kind with the Indian on it- as one of my mom's former students put it: the dot kind, not the feather kind- how are children so innocent, yet derogatory at the same time? No social handcuffs.) corn tortillas, heirloom salsa.

Lunchfast today consisted of onions, tofu, potatoes, & rice bread too well buttered.

My favorite smells include:

Rain in the desert
Creosote (synonymous with the above)
Wet dry sweet grass
My daughter's skin (sans feces)
New books
Old books
Old clothes
New clothes
Tide & Downey (though I never use it- P&G are the evil empire- but it is a former home smell)
Dead leaves baking in the sun
Pine trees baking in the sun
Chlorine pools

Kitty Cat hasn't got 'Mama' down yet, but everything she likes is a 'Dada.' I gave her a nonchalant bath yesterday because it finally got to me. Yeah, that'll show her.

I offend myself.

Day 1

Almost done with curtains.
Still have to hand stitch the bedroom barkcloth
Added the ties to the guest house curtains, which hides the vintage stains.

Not sure why I've decided to write my daily nonsense down, menial tasks added up over hours and days and years make up a life, I reckon. And I have had so few timelines. Graduated high school, met my who-would-have-thought-husband-to-be in college, got a job, add 10 years: a hitchin', a house, a pleasant surprise of a bean sack (baby), and there it is: me and my existence.

Kitty Cat's asleep in her car seat.
Daddy's working on cleaning the new vintage stroller.

Rice Bread Toast for breakfast.
Another day with coffee, too many lately.
Made avocado for the others, I'm immune to not wanting it anymore.

I waited too long for someone to show up yesterday at Farmer's Market.
The Farm Girl was friendly to KC and me, and I found out she can weld, amongst other hidden talents. She said Kitty Cat and I were the best dressed couple. : )
Tofurky Kielbasa sausage, garlic, basil, zucchini and summer squash, burnt quinoa- rice noodles instead for supper last night.

Thinking about going camping, but I think more than I act.

Hawaii in two weeks. I hear the dreaded plane trip is worth it. I've had plenty of time to breath, I just hope the plane stays afloat for the Bean Sack, she hasn't been alive even a year, yet. I always consider babies on plane insurance with the Fates; we'll see.

One chapter left in the Ender's Game.

Still in my pajamas, and it's almost noon, god bless summer time.
